Youth Must Condemn Violence, Says Najib

Kuala Lumpur, 26 February (Bernama) – Deputy Prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today called on the youth to condemn violence and any fragmentation of humankind.

He said the youth should have the capacity to realise the futility and destructiveness of terrorism despite the difficult political circumstances or personal traumas that they faced.

At the same time, the younger generation should integrate with a multicultural society to respect religious diversity and believe in democracy and dialogue.

“One thing we all know and agree is that no religion or culture advocates violence to another. Let me also make it clear that no cause or political antecedent can justify acts of terrorism.

“Terrorism and violence cannot be justified under any circumstances,” he said in his opening speech at the International Conference on Youth and Terrorism here.

His speech was delivered by Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.

Present were Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek, his deputy Datuk Tan Lian Hoe and deputy Youth and Sports minister Wee Jeck Seng.

Najib said it was also important for the youth to address the misconceptions and prejudices which arise in the discourse of terrorism, apart from finding the roots to the scourge.

There was also a need to analyse factors why young men and women were easily brainwashed into becoming sacrificial lambs and becoming suicide bombers.

“We are urged on a daily basis by mass media which associate terrorism with religious fundamentalism. It creates a perception that religion promotes terrorists and suicide bombers.

“Our own acquaintances further create a picture where we only see our sorrow and despair, and are not able to see beyond it, what exactly is the root cause of terror,” he added.

Najib suggested that to make the world a better place, the youth must be guided by their conscience, where things which are immoral, regardless of the cause, must never be justified.

“Secondly, in the pursuit of knowledge, never forget wisdom. In this information age, the stress on acquiring knowledge has been emphasised and rightly so. Nevertheless, knowledge without wisdom is like a powerful car without the capacity to steer,” he said.

He said it was important for the youth to develop empathy and have an open mind in addressing terrorism, and to strive for unity in the multi-cultural society.

“Finally, we need courage. Let us not fool ourselves, most of the world would vehemently oppose those that try to live by such principles. Under such circumstances, living by the above would only be possible if we have both fortitude and resourcefulness,” he added.

The two-day conference was attended by 224 participants from 24 countries.

Snif snif.. wish I can believe this bloke coz about a week earlier, somebody sent two bullets ..

mkini-pix

through the mail to the Singh (is) King, KS, who then went ballistic in parliament by uttering a politically non-lexiconic word (don’t look at me, folks. Go ask NST’s Yeh-Yeh) in that August Chamber of Power up the hill.

KS .. err.. aimed at no one in particular within the UMNO youth organisation but hey, that’s the privilege of legal immunity from prosecution one gets as an MP.

Nevertheless, mob persecution came quickly when two tens plus two more dimwits from UMNO youth turned up unmolested (by the PDRM) on parliament grounds ..

mkini-pix1a

probably, to show KS their finger .. and a couple of hyped up ’silat’ moves, I reckon while the ‘parliamentary’ security personnel .. yup, them PDRM blokes again .. looked on from a safe distance, for a while. They know these Mat Rempit types are somehow ‘protected’ by umno-nised tefloned suits.

Anywayz, able-bodied help from the DAP G-Man posse with one volunteer from PKR were able to rescue their wheelchairperson and wheel .. whisk him off to the relative safety (huh?) of the inner sanctum (that’s inside the parliament building lah, yer clods).

Ahhh… just another ordinary day of New Politics in Metropolitan Kuala Lumpur.

And I bet none of these blokes care a damn about what the PM-in-waiting wrote.

Btw didya hear about the story of unseen speech writers and speakers, including Kings and Prime Ministers, who do not know what they are saying .. well .. go read this.

Hmmm .. where’s that Claymore I wanna ‘PosLaju’ to that Reverted Warrior idiot.

Footnote: Pix pinched from Mkini and edited w/out permission. Don’t sue me, puhlleeezzz.

Real Story of Elizabeth Wong’s Nude Pic Scandal
written by Killer, February 18, 2009
Ok folks. This is the inside story of Elizabeth Wong’s scandal.

The boy friend’s name is Hilmi Malek, a married Malay Muslim gent. He was a PA to PJ Selatan MP Hee Loy Sian and a key member of PKR’s Pandan Division. He supposed to be from a rich family.

Elizabeth has a succession of boy friends. Once she was caught while having sex with Tian Chua by the latter’s girl friend who dumped him after that. There are numerous stories of Elizabeth and Tian Chua’s sexual relationship and they were again caught by PKR people at a Taipei hotel during that infamous “frog-hunting” trip to Taiwan when the PR delegation went after BN MPs on an “agricultural mission”.

Elizabeth became closer to Hilmi and they had become close in the run up to the 12 GE. However their relationship were strained by Elizabeth’s “extra-curricular” activities. They were supposed to have broken off after his marriage but it continued. The matter finally came to head about 2 mths ago when Hilmi discovered nudes pics of Eli and her Mat Salleh boy friend. He became furious and they broke off. However the pics that he had come to the knowledge among PKR circles as the ex-lovers had a major clash.

So the factions in PKR eyeing exco seat and the business interests angered by Elizabeth due to her steadfast opposition to hill-slope development and environmental issues found a common ground to kill of her political career. As such, the pics and video clips were obtained by these unscrupulous people and used to discredit her. That’s why these people approached MM instead of blackmailing her.

It is highly misleading of Eli to claim these pics were taken without her knowledge or the work of BN. She better own up otherwise this thing going to be very ugly.

Who’s ‘Killer’? Should we not be curious about this person’s identity and the above-mentioned comment made at The Malaysian Insider’s article “Police to question Wong’s ex-boyfriend“.

Let’s go even further on this matter –

a) Why was the Malay Mail and the Sun ‘given’ the photo scoop, and not the major MSM prints like the NST, Star, Utusan, etc?

b) Was Hilmi so naive as to not realise that these photos will incriminate himself if Jakim decides that he can be charged for khalwat?

Almost everything written by ‘Killer’ points towards discrediting PKR and their members for various unsubstantiated allegations with the last paragraph added to indemnify BN (perhaps, its only UMNO?) against any involvement.

The following is the Home minister’s statement taken from the Sun which highlighted various opinions from several politicians -

Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar:
It is important that proper vetting should be done when choosing the candidate for state and parliament representatives. If you just simply recruit people, you will have all these problems.
I do not (know) if she is the one who responsible for the photos as she has admitted that she is the person in the photos, but she is entitled to make a police report and the police will investigate.
You may take naked photos at your home, but you must make sure that the public do not get to it.

There’s an element of subterfuge as to how this incident is unraveling and I believe it was planned much earlier by other personalities outside PKR or Pakatan Rakyat.

If the photos were divulged to the NST, Star and/or Utusan, the obvious conclusion in every rational person’s mind would indicate an UMNO/BN conspiracy.

Therefore, the relatively minor MSMs were made the conduit for this expose. The Malay Mail is rumored to be in financial doldrums due to low circulation and might be taken over by Media Prima while the Sun’s owner was implicated with another salacious story. Hence, both have their backdoor links to UMNO.

Furthermore, if Hilmi is equally blameless i.e. it was not him who ‘delivered’ the photos to the media, he’d be having a hard time proving his innocence due to the ’spurn lover’ theory.

Already, there are ‘new’ blogs spinning the same MSM message with some, barely a month old. Coincidentally, we can thank the Malay Mail’s Cyberspot for their promotion of anonymous bloggers like Demi Negara.

And yes, folks, the ‘ketuanan melayu’ brotherhood is alive and kicking around in the Malaysian cyberspace.

Mohd Osman Was Not Admitted In HKL : Director

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 (Bernama) — Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) Director Datuk Dr Zaininah Mohd Zain today denied that Changkat Jering assemblyman Mohd Osman Jailu had been admitted to the hospital recently.

“Changkat Jering assemblyman Mohd Osman Jailu was never admitted to HKL,” she told Bernama today, in response to the claim by Mohd Osman’s sister that her brother failed to turn up for his corruption trial at the Magistrate’s Court in Ipoh on Tuesday as he was admitted in the HKL.

According to Norliza, her brother was admitted to the intensive care unit on Monday night. However, Norliza failed to produce any medical certificate as she claimed that the doctors were still observing Mohd Osman’s condition.

Mohd Osman was issued with a warrant of arrest after he failed to turn up for his corruption trial.

Magistrate Sharmila Abdul Samad issued the order yesterday after Mohd Osman’s sister told the court her brother had been admitted to hospital in Kuala Lumpur due to a heart ailment, but she failed to produce a medical certificate.

Anybody know where this bloke is?

Perhaps, a check at high-end private hospitals shouldn’t be discounted.
