Two news reports come to mind with regard to the Shah Alam incident.

Firstly, Mkini’s “Cops say sorry, promise prompt action“.

Excerpts:

  • The police have apologised for not taking prompt action during the ‘cow head’ protest that took place in Shah Alam yesterday, said Selangor exco member Dr Xavier Jeyakumar. He said Shah Alam district police chief Noor Azam Jamaluddin conveyed his apology to several Pakatan Rakyat leaders during a meeting this morning.
  • The police chief explained that the officer at the scene was a ‘junior’ (suggesting that he was inexperienced in handling such matters).
  • Santiago said it was “weird” that the dozens of policemen “watched silently” when the protesters were spitting on and kicking the bloodied cow head.

Next is TMI’s report “OCPD: Volatile situation did not permit police action“.

Excerpts:

  • Shah Alam OCPD ACP Noor Azam Jamaludin today explained that the police had failed to act during the cow-head demonstration at the state secretariat because the situation “did not permit” them to do so.
  • “We saw the situation was not right because we did not want to spark more anger but we will take actions based on other evidences that we have. We will take action based on evidence and against those who have been identified,” Azam said.
  • Dozens of riot police stood by and watched as protesters brought the severed cow-head to the Selangor state secretariat and stomped on it.

—00000—

We know that on Friday night itself, NTR barked the order ‘to nip the incident in the butt .. bud‘ specifically to the nation’s IGP.

Actually, there were two Bernama bulletins i.e. at 21.21pm (28th August) plus another at 00.35am on the 29th with the same headline “PM directs IGP to act over temple protest”.

Duhhhh! Ok, maybe Bernama likes the sound of its own .. errr .. sound bytes and repeated itself or maybe, NTR phoned to ask Bernama whether his ‘order’ has been made public and as usual, whoever it is just re-published the first one to make the PM happy. We’ll never know with these blokes sometimes.

Excerpts:

  • Meanwhile, Musa said he had asked Selangor police chief Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar to investigate the case and take those responsible to task.
  • “I also urge witnesses to lodge police reports to enable us to take action against those involved,” he said when contacted today.
  • Khalid, when contacted, said action would be taken against those involved in the incident.

Sooo .. what do we have:

  • The Shah Alam bull-head protest occurred between 2.00-3.00pm.
  • Word of the incident got to the PM through an MIC minister.
  • PM then instructed the IGP to handle the matter promptly.
  • IGP spoke to the Selangor CPO.
  • Selangor CPO must have contacted the Shah Alam OCPD to finally ‘nip it the bud’.

Geeez .. I’m utterly impressed with their C.o.C. thingy (that’s Chain of Command for you civvies types) despite the ‘Rome is burning’ atmosphere that’s happening on the ground.

Lemmesee  ..

PDRM had:

  • No ground intel to pre-empt a potentially volatile situation. But the TMI and Mkini news crew plus Minaq Jinggo were present!
  • Not stopped the protesters walking 300 meters from the mosque to the state secretariat’s front gate.
  • Not stopped the protesters walking further from the mosque to the state secretariat’s front gate, even when it was evident that a severed bull’s head was being carried by some of protesters.
  • Not intervened when the protesters’ began their seditious speeches.
  • Not ’saved the bull from a fate worse than death itself i.e. getting stomped on its head’ for fear of sparking an angrier response from visibly belligerent protesters.
  • An officer in charge who was ‘wet between the ears’ and probably did not have his PDRM issued walkie-talkie, therefore, could not get further orders from his superiors on how to handle the situation. No dear, NASA don’t handle this type of situations.
  • Urged witnesses to lodge police reports for action to be taken. Blimey! That’s definitely hands-on-bull-head police lingo, eh folks.

Sigh! On the eve of Merdeka Day, the sores continue to fester.

I’m wearing BLACK. That’s fer sure.

Nuff said.

I got in touch with Sheih aka Kickdefella who was generous enough to provide me with the following images:

These places of worship exist for a reason.

That individual societies of various faiths can live together in harmony, as God would want it to be.

Now can somebody tell these numbskulls in Shah Alam to take a hike up Mount Arafat and don’t come down until they’ve cleanse their souls.

TMI pix and full reports here and here.

NTR (that’s our PM in case you just landed from Mars) have issued an executive order for the PDRM to get off their butts.

More reports at Mkini here, here and here.

Why am I only linking to these news portals?

Coz none of the of the BN government-owned MSMs, including the electronic media and Bernama, gave any coverage to this shameful act by a bunch of malay-muslims (sic) during the month of Ramadan.

Wither 1Malaysia?

Ditto Merdeka.

Sooo .. was it for the band or beverage sponsor?

If reality sux, what do you make of this statement by the MOI -

  • It is learnt that music concert rules disallow breweries or alcoholic drinks makers from sponsoring such events but the ministry relented as the concert is expected to boost the tourism industry affected by the recession and the A(H1N1) flu outbreak.

Tourism money rulez?

While another type of crowd gathering is expected to be officiously discouraged due to A(H1N1). Duuhh!!

But at least Penang is fair to all. It banned the entire event altogether.

Malaysia, truly stranger by the day.

5000 plus voters still support BN since March 2008.

Perhaps, voter education is the key.

One thing is for certain – Original thinking and technology will tip the balance.

The saga continues with this Bernama report:

Rohaizat Was Not Involved In Transaction, Says Umno Information Chief

BUKIT MERTAJAM, Aug 18 (Bernama) — The Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate in the Permatang Pasir by-election, Rohaizat Othman, was not involved in any land transaction handled by his legal firm partner on behalf of Koperasi Pekebun Getah Negeri Pulau Pinang Berhad, said Umno information chief Ahmad Maslan.

Instead, he said, Rohaizat became a victim of circumstances after the partner left the law firm and had to bear the burden of resolving problems arising from the transaction.

He said, in 2002, the cooperative had hired Messrs Saif Ariff T.Jayaraj & Rohaizat to represent it in a property purchase in Penang.

He said the cooperative handed over the money for the purchase to the law firm but later the transaction had to be cancelled.

“At all material times, the transaction was handled by the partner who had been with the firm from 1999 to 2003,” he told a press conference at the BN’s election operations room here tonight.

He added that the money paid by the cooperative was received exclusively by by the partner, who was handling the client’s accounts at all material times.

“Rohaizat’s partner was the authorised signatory for the accounts and Rohaizat had no involvement or knowledge about the property transcation,” he said.

Ahmad said at the time the cooperative lodged a complaint with the Bar Council’s disciplinary board over the transaction, Rohaizad’s partner had already left the firm and he (Rohaizat) was named as the respondent in the complaint, making him a victim of circumstances.

He added that Rohaizat appeared before the board for the first time on Sept 11 2007 and on that the day, the board had only questioned a representative of the copperative.

He said the hearing was then postponed to Sept 14 to enable Rohaizat cross examine the representative of the cooperative and explain his side of the story.

However, on that day, Rohaizat did not attend the hearing because he was sick and a medical chit on his illness was submitted to the board, he said.

Following that, he said Rohaizat never received any notices from the board until March 14 2008, when he received a letter stating he had been disbarred.

Ahmad said in discharging his firm’s responsibilities, Rohaizat had refunded monies due to the cooperative and following this, the cooperative had written a letter to the disciplinary board on March 28 2008 to retract all complaints made against Rohaizat as all their claims had been settled.

This, he said, showed Rohaizat was a leader of quality and did not run away from problems, unlike his partner, and thus could be deemed a “hero”.

As such, he said, allegations by certain quarters that Rohaizat was a person without integrity were not true and hoped this clarification would put to rest the accusations that had been hurled about the BN candidate.

The press conference was also attended by Penang Umno legal advisor Abu Bakar As-Sidek Mohd Sidek, Rohaizat, Penang Umno deputy chief Datuk Zainal Abidin Osman and a representative of the cooperative.

The BN is involved in a straight fight for the state seat. Polling is on Aug 25.

I’ve highlighted three paragraphs in ‘red’. Keep in mind the pertinent dates are September 11th and 14th in 2007.

Now, let’s go over to this blog called called “Pisau” and its relevant posting entitled “n11-permatang-pasir-dokumen-membuktikan.html” in which seven images were shown.

Reproduced below is the image for the medical certificate obtained by Rohaizat Othman indicating his inability to be present for the Displinary Board second inquiry on 14th September 2007 (as stated in the above-mentioned Bernama report) .

STATUS ROHAIZAT 5

Can you see the date on this medical chit? It shows “14/11/07” i.e. 14th NOVEMBER 2007.

Someone’s definitely fibbing, eh folks.
